Cafeteria Captain: Help get cafeteria coverage for the time frame of your child's class. Contact your Room Parent
Cafeteria Coverage: Provide cafeteria coverage during lunch time. Assist with crowd control and help students as needed. Contact the Cafeteria Captain for your child's class. There is a Guide for Parent Helpers in the Cafeteria.
Chess Club: (throughout the year, club meets 1x/week after school 3:30-4:30 pm) Assist with weekly meetings and tournaments throughout the year. Knowledge of chess not required. Contact TBD

Geography Enrichment: (club meets 1x/wk, Fridays 8:00-8:30 AM, Nat'l Geographic Geography Bee January 2007) Assist with meetings (2 parents per week) to prepare students for Nat'l Bee and to participate in school-wide geography enrichment. Contact Martha Bishai; marthabishai@comcast.net
Holiday Boutique: (December) Make gifts/shop for gifts. Assist with a store set up for several days to allow children to shop for the holidays. Assist children with gift selection and check out. Contact Cheri Pegues; cheri007@comcast.com
Holiday Breakfast: Assist with this fun holiday event. It involves a breakfast, games, the Holiday Boutique, and pictures with Santa. Picture Parent: (throughout the year) Teach a prepared art lesson in your child's classroom. Includes a presentation and project. Help expose the students to various artists and techniques. No experience required.
Raccoon Tales: (Spring) Help produce Riderwood's annual literary book by assisting with layout, typing and proofreading of original student material. Contact Anne Ducastel; anneducastel@hotmail.com
Room Parents: (throughout the year): Work with classroom teachers to coordinate special activities, including class parties. Facilitate the sign-up for cafeteria coverage. Support school-wide activities that require help from each class. If interested, please contact your child's teacher.
